My Story

Some stories begin in boardrooms, others on battlefields. Mine weaves through both, shaped by a deep commitment to service that began in the sun-soaked neighborhoods of Encino, California, and has carried me through decades of military service, legal education, and crisis management consulting.

Today, as a Senior Advisor with a business firm that owns and operates diverse real estate holdings—including restaurants, convenience stores, and accounting firms—I've learned that every challenge, whether in business or life, requires the same fundamental approach: clear thinking, decisive action, and unwavering integrity. This philosophy also guides my work as the owner and Managing Partner of Kings Consultants LLC, a Crisis Management Firm where I help organizations and individuals navigate their most challenging moments to find prosperity and success.

My path to this work began long before I knew where it would lead. Growing up in Encino, I was drawn to understanding how systems work—whether in government, business, or community organizations. This curiosity led me to the University of Southern California, where I completed my Bachelor's degree in Political Science. The rigorous academic environment at USC taught me to analyze complex problems from multiple angles, a skill that would prove invaluable in both my military service and civilian career.

But education was only the beginning. The call to serve my country led me to join the Marines, where I served as an Enlisted Infantry Marine. The transformation from civilian to Marine was profound—it taught me that true leadership isn't about commanding others, but about serving them. I'm particularly proud of becoming a Marine Corps Company Honor Man and graduating from the School of Infantry at the top of my class, achievements that required not just individual excellence but the ability to elevate those around me.

My military journey continued as I transitioned to the Navy, where I served as a Lieutenant. The breadth of experiences in this role was extraordinary: I became a US Navy Officer Candidate School Honor Graduate, served as a Navy LT Public Affairs Advisor to an Admiral, and worked as a Navy LT Pentagon Staff Member for the Secretary of Defense. Each position taught me something different about leadership, communication, and the delicate balance between strategic thinking and operational execution.

These military experiences instilled in me a deep appreciation for precision, accountability, and the importance of serving something greater than oneself. But I knew that to maximize my impact in civilian life, I needed to expand my toolkit further.

This realization led me to pursue my Master of Business Administration degree, where I maintained a high GPA while diving deep into the complexities of modern business management. The MBA program challenged me to think systematically about organizational challenges and strategic opportunities.

However, it was my legal education that truly shaped my approach to problem-solving and crisis management. At the University of San Diego Law School, where I became a Merit Scholar and was awarded a scholarship covering 75 percent of my tuition, I learned to think not just strategically, but analytically. Law school teaches you to dissect complex problems, identify the core issues, and develop comprehensive solutions—skills that translate directly into effective crisis management.

While I'm a non-practicing attorney today, the legal training provides a foundation for understanding risk, compliance, and the intricate relationships between different stakeholders in any organization. This background, combined with my military experience and business education, gives me a unique perspective when organizations face their most challenging moments.

But perhaps what I'm most proud of isn't found in any resume or professional biography. It's the moments of connection and service that happen outside the boardroom. Whether I'm riding horses with my 8-year-old niece or challenging her to a round of mini-golf, these relationships remind me why all the professional work matters—it's ultimately about creating a better world for the next generation.

My commitment to fitness and personal discipline remains as strong as it was during my military days. I spend considerable time in my home gym, not just for physical health but for the mental clarity and resilience that regular exercise provides. These habits, formed decades ago, continue to serve me well in high-pressure consulting situations where clear thinking and stamina are essential.

My rescued Shepherd dog is a constant companion in many of these activities, reminding me daily of the importance of loyalty, trust, and unconditional commitment—qualities that are just as valuable in business relationships as they are in personal ones.

Service to community has always been central to who I am. As a Rotarian, I'm proud to be connected to multiple Rotary organizations: the Pasadena Rotary, Studio City/Sherman Oaks Rotary, Granada Hills Rotary, Los Angeles 5 Rotary, and San Fernando Valley Evening Rotary. Rotary's commitment to "Service Above Self" aligns perfectly with my personal philosophy and provides countless opportunities to make a meaningful difference.

My volunteer work extends far beyond Rotary, though. I regularly participate in homeless outreach programs, support organizations serving battered women, work with underprivileged youth, assist veterans transitioning to civilian life, and help other underserved groups in our community. I also donate to religious organizations, including The Aleph Institute, and support various causes like Surfers United and handicapped individuals through numerous initiatives.

Each year brings new opportunities to serve, from hurricane relief efforts to the Camp Pendleton clothes and toy drives. I volunteer regularly at the local homeless shelter, PALS youth center, San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission, and Pasadena Homeless Shelter. I also serve as an ambassador for the Rose Parade, a role that combines community service with the celebration of the achievements and spirit of our local community.

My military background continues to provide opportunities for service through my membership in the American Legion and Marine Corps League—organizations that require honorable military service and focus on supporting veterans and their families. Working within these organizations allows me to give back to the community that shaped so much of who I am today.

Professional Memberships & Achievements

I'm proud to be a member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the American Bar Association (ABA), American Legion, USC Alumni mentor and sponsor program, and multiple Rotary clubs. My work with the Surfer Foundation for Underserved Youth in San Diego and membership in the Valley Industry Commerce Association (VICA) reflect my ongoing commitment to both professional excellence and community service.

When people ask me what I'm most proud of, the answer isn't simple. It's not any single achievement, but rather the interconnected web of service, learning, and relationships that have defined my journey. It's the military service that taught me discipline and leadership. It's the education that gave me analytical tools and strategic thinking capabilities. It's the business experience that showed me how to create value and solve complex organizational problems.

But most of all, it's the opportunity to serve—whether that's helping an organization navigate a crisis, mentoring young professionals through USC Alumni programs, supporting veterans through the American Legion, or simply being present for my niece during a game of mini-golf. Each of these roles informs and strengthens the others.

Today, whether I'm advising a business through a challenging transition, working with my team at Kings Consultants LLC to help an individual overcome a personal crisis, or volunteering at a local shelter, I bring the same core values: integrity, service, and an unwavering commitment to finding solutions that create lasting positive change. This is who I am, and this is the foundation upon which I build every professional relationship and community connection.
